Priority will be given to your high school band ensemble should both ensembles be invited as finalists.

Cost for participation is $500. This fee covers the cost of the program including music director salary, supplies, rehearsal space and administrative costs.

About the Essentially Ellington Festival
The Essentially Ellington Festival takes place in New York City in early May each year. Schools and community bands audition to be one of 15 finalists who come to New York to participate. This festival is highly competitive, with only 3 bands from 5 different regions around the US being accepted each year to participate in the festival. The Pacific Northwest Region is particularly competitive due the numerous high level public school programs that exist in this area and compete each year. To learn more about the festival, you can visit their website: http://academy.jalc.org/ee/
