Jazz Orchestra Project
Calling all string players!
Dig in to jazz concepts, instrumental improvisation, and jazz feel by playing music arranged by David Marriott Jr. and other great composer/arrangers, in a “string big band” setting, with a full jazz rhythm section.
Rehearsals will take place on Thursdays (see schedule below), and will conclude with an exciting performance at The Royal Room in Columbia City.
This ensemble is geared for intermediate to advanced players of all stringed instruments who are in upper grades (7-12). No jazz experience is necessary. Come with an open mind and an expectation of fun times ahead!

Rehearsal Schedule
8 weekly sessions, Thursdays from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM beginning Oct 1 through Nov 19. The final session on Nov. 19 will take place at The Royal Room; students will rehearse from 5-6PM and then they will have a performance from 6-7PM.

Who can register
Open to all bowed string players in grades 7-12. No prior jazz or improvisation experience required.
